Group Leader
I studied physics at the University of Freiburg where I performed my bachelor's and master's work in the group of Prof. Hanspeter Helm. Afterwards, I relocated to Munich to do my PhD in the group of Prof. Gerhard Rempe at the Max-Planck-Institute of Quantum Optics (MPQ). In Munich, I worked with single atoms trapped in optical cavities and used this platform for applications in quantum communication and quantum computation in a network-ready structure. After my PhD, I stayed for a postdoc at MPQ before the group of Prof. Jonathan Home at ETH Zürich in 2022. In Zurich, worked on the implementation of quantum gates between Gottesman-Kitaev-Preskill qubits encoded in the motion of trapped ions. Since 08/2024, I am an independent group leader of the Quantum Network Node group at the University of Stuttgart.
